She was laid down on a bed, covered in bruises and cuts. Her eyes were swollen and full of tears. She looked at Elliot like she couldn't really see him. And she didn't say a word to him.

Elliot went to sit by Lily's side; and laid a hand on her cheek. "Hey... I..." What the hell was he supposed to say?
"... when did you come back?"he asked quietly. He meant to ask how she had fallen down, but knew the question would hurt her.

"Three days ago." was her empty, automatic answer. "I... came back alone. And..."she gulped a bit. "I made it home and fell down while trying to take my suitcase upstairs... Will found me and took me here, but it was late..."she whispered, and started crying helplessly.

It could have been hours. After he had some better control on his emotions, Elliot placed a hand on Lily's cheek, cradling her face gently. "How are you feeling?"he asked, quietly.

All Lily could really do was allow her tears to fall freely. A hand was lifted to tug at a strand of her hair in light despair. "...Elliot..."she mumbled after a while, tiredly.
