Lily sat up straight. "Yes,"she answered nearly immediately, blushing. "I...um...I'll do the cooking,"she said, making her way to the kitchen.

"Why d'you blush?"he asked, hugging her waist. "I can do the cooking...or more like, I'll put some instant food in the microwave,"he said, pressing his cheek to the top of her head. "You go lay down, okay?"he suggested.

Elliot found some instant lasagna and heated it in the microwave. "Ummm, listen....I'm wondering, what are you going to do about school?"he asked her while waiting for the food to be done.

She closed her eyes. "Well...I think I could try homeschooling. I already tried it for a year, when I was younger,"she explained. "It wasn't that bad, so I'll take on homeschooling until I can get to go to college. That works?"she asked.

Elliot stared at the rain, then back at Lily, and then remembered that the rain had always depressed her. He sighed and pulled her into his arms. "Hey, remember the time we went to visit the Empire State...and you pushed me off the stairs?"he asked, mainly to distract her.

She smiled weakly. "Yeah...the time you stuck a caramel apple to my hair. I had to cut it--like REALLY short to get all the caramel out of it..."she sighed, laying her head on his shoulder. "Oh, and the one summer you and Nettie came with me and Will to Disney World on vacation?"she suddenly remembered.

Two hours later, Emily Burke stepped into the house quietly. She found Elliot and Lily laid on the couch. Lily was asleep, while Elliot just sang into her ear. She shook her head. "Hey..."she greeted Elliot.
