Rehearsing with the Pinheads!!

[Tawni Hanson]

Tawni glanced at him and shifted so that she could look at him properly but she was still laying down. "What happened to her?" she mumbled, not really thinking whether or not she was going too far. She was just interested and stared at Elliot with what she hoped was understanding.

[Elliot Blackstone]

He took half a glance at her before answering. "She had a heart disease. It was very hard...I think she was getting ready for a heart transplant..."he trailed off. "Then one day while we were on vacation...well, we got into a car accident...and no one got hurt, but her heart couldn't take it. She died instantly..."he sighed. "I think she didn't suffer, though. It was all pretty fast."

Taking in his story, Tawni got off the bed and kneeled down, closing her eyes and saying a prayer for Elliot's mother. She stood still for a long time and once she was done, she took his hand and led him to the door. "Come on. Let's go."

[Elliot Blackstone]

He blinked a bit. "Where are we going?"he asked. He had to admit, it was almost a relief that the dramatic moment was over.

[Tawni Hanson]

Looking back at him, Tawni laughed. "To see the show of course!!! There's a fireworks show tonight in the park! I dunno what we're supposed to be celebrating but whatever. Everybody loves fireworks!" She laughed again and went outside, skipping a little.

[Elliot Blackstone]

He nodded. "Right. Fireworks...that was today?"he asked. "I could have sworn it was tomorrow..."He'd been losing track of time pretty easily as of late. It was a lot easier when he was still attending to school.

[Tawni Hanson]

"Nooooooooo...that was definitely today..." She smirked and patted his shoulder. "It's ok", she almost cooed. "Don't strain your brain trying to remember." Tawni grinned and could see the park coming into view now.

[Elliot Blackstone]

He gave a sigh. "Right. It was today. Yeah..."he mumbled. Damn it, he was too stressed. He should be able to remember the days of the week, but things were too complicated lately.

[Tawni Hanson]

Tawni looked at him and couldn't help her laugh. She was laughing harder than intended but it wasn't like she was cracking up. Still, she had to hold onto Elliot's shoulder for support. "You're so confused. It's ok, sugar always helps that! See?" She pointed to a nearby ice cream stand on the way. Taking his hand, Tawni walked over.

[Elliot Blackstone]

"Sugar?"he mumbled. Why did girls think that sugar could make everything better? Oh well, it was better than being bitter. "Yeah. I'll assume I'm gonna end up paying?"he asked, and rose an eyebrow.

[Tawni Hanson]

"Thanks a bunch, kid!" she said with a smile, assuming that he was offering by asking. Looking at the flavors, Tawni settled on 4 scoops of chocolate. Then she turned to Elliot and patted him on shoulder. "You're the bomb!"

[Elliot Blackstone]

He smiled a bit as he stared at all the ice cream Tawni was getting. "You're so like my sister. For as long as you don't make me get lost in Disney World I'm happy." He then ordered a chocolate ice cream and paid.

[Tawni Hanson]

She laughed while she was licking the ice cream. "Who gets lost in Disney World? Weiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirdoooooooooooo", she sang, smearing a little bit of her ice cream on his cheek before she skipped a little ways ahead of him.

[Elliot Blackstone]

He rolled his eyes a bit with a smile. "Hey! It wasn't my fault!"he answered defensively, and then ran after Tawni. He caught up with her after a few seconds, and ruffled her hair a bit. "Where are you going? The show is this way,"he said, and pointed to the opposite -and wrong- direction, wondering if she'd fall for that one.

Tawni whirled on her heel and looked in the direction that Elliot was pointing to. Chuckling to herself, she started that way. "Whoops! My bad! What's with me, today? Poor brain..." Whacking herself in the head, she marched in the other direction but not before shooting Elliot a quick smile and ruffling his hair too until it was a mess.

[Elliot Blackstone]

He gave a lighthearted laugh. "Wrong, darling. I couldn't help it,"he then spun her around so that she was facing the right direction. "It's this way. I just wanted to see if..."he then bent over as though he was in pain, holding his arm. "Damnit,"he muttered, through gritted teeth.

[Tawni Hanson]

She raised her eyebrows and looked at Elliot in surprise as she looked at his arm. Crouching down, Tawni lightly touched his arm. "Hey, what's wrong? Is it ok?" She then flicked the arm he was holding.

[Elliot Blackstone]

"Fine,"he answered, gripping his arm tighter. Why the hell was it hurting so much, damnit? It hurt for a few more seconds before the stinging pain faded away completely, and he could let go of it. "Okay...that's better,"he mumbled.

[Tawni Hanson]

Tawni just stared at him unsuredly, her eyes going back and forth between his face and arm. "What was that? Do you usually get searing pain in your arm?"

[Elliot Blackstone]

He sighed. "Not really, no. It's kind of strange..."he mumbled, biting into his lips. Strange indeed. "I'll be fine though,"he promised.

[Tawni Hanson]

She was still looking at him worriedly but after a while, her face broke into a smile. "Well if you're sure. Come on, mazed and confused!!" Finishing the rest of her ice cream, Tawni took his hand and skipped in the direction of the park. "We gotta hurry or we'll miss it!"

[Elliot Blackstone]

He laughed a bit. "Okay, crazy. Let's go." They soon reached the park and he sat down on the grass. The street lights had been already turned off so the show should be starting soon.

[Tawni Hanson]

Tawni sat down next to him and pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. "The fireworks are always so awesome, don't you think? But I betcha we could make better ones if we played around with them enough..." All of a sudden, she gasped and whacked Elliot's good arm. "We should do that!"

[Elliot Blackstone]

"Owwww...you hit hard...."was his answer. "But yeah, let's go do that,"he said conspirationally.

[Tawni Hanson]

"K!" she said with an excited smile before she layed on her back and stared up at the sky. Lights exploded and rained down around them. One was in the form of a rose and Tawni laughed. "They're really going all out to buy new tricked-out fireworks this time. Hey Elliot? What do you think about when you watch fireworks?" she asked suddenly.

[Elliot Blackstone]

"What do you mean what do I think about? Oh, well..."he bit his lips and looked up at the fireworks. "Well, about...uh, I...duh..."was all he managed to say.

[Tawni Hanson]

"Uh huh, uh huh and how do you feel about that? Not knowing how you feel?" she asked very much like a psychiatrist as she tried not to laugh.

[Elliot Blackstone]

"Oh, I don't know. I'm just too stressed lately,"he answered, and then sank to sit on the ground.

[Tawni Hanson]

"Would you like to explain, Mr. Elliot?" Tawni grinned to herself and sat up, spreading her legs out and crossing her ankles.

[Elliot Blackstone]

"...It's tempting, but most of it is personal stuff, so no." He shook his head and sighed. There were things that weren't just about him, he couldn't just go around telling others' private lives.
