He grinned, breathing a sigh of relief as his heart beat against him, about to burst thru his chest. He couldn't believe how scared that made him. He hugged her close. "Anytime. Whenever you need a peptalk, lil' ol' Neil Sanders is just around the riverbend with Meeko in a boat."

He glanced over at the stuff from the glove compartment and frowned, looking at a switchblade, stray bullets and a bottle of Gatorade that he knew was NOT Gatorade. "Huh. I didn't know I was a trigger-happy masochist who liked experimenting with illegal chemicals, trying to pass them off as a sports drink chock-full of electrolites."
