She cocked her head to the left. "Huh? What? Zane, were...... I mean... What?" Ryden was speechless again. She placed her hand of her top of her hips and just started at him with the same look he was giving her.

Zane didn't say anything for a long moment, not exactly sure what else he could possibly say to make her understand. "You heard me," he mumbled. "I spoke clear.. and I mean what I say."

"but... But you told me before... You would never... Fuck buddies... Those were your words remember?" she looked down. He can't want to marry her. No one wants to marry her. Well other then Harvvey. Oh no, Harvey. He's going to hate her after he hears this. Damn it..

[Zane Tapp]

"The words of a very good liar. I'm player, I'm good at lying, remember?" he tried to remind her before cupping her face in his hands and leaning in to stare straight into her eyes. "But I'm not lying about this," he breathed. "Go ahead, read my eyes.. look into my soul.. see that I'm speaking the truth."

Ryden just stared at him for a while. She didn't know what to think. She was speechless, once again. She bit her lower lip lightly, showing that she was thinking hard about what was coming out of Zane's mouth. Her hands were gripping her shirt. She didn't say anything for a while, just stared at him, into his beautiful eyes.

Zane waited a long minute before lowering one arm to her waist and pulling her against him, smiling ever so slightly. "Don't you believe me, Ryden Hertz?" he asked sweetly.

She sighed lightly. There was alot if thinking going on in her mind. She really didn't know what to believe. "Um, I want to.." she whispered into his chest, not daring to look up at him.

[Zane Tapp]

Zane sighed as well, his chest risng and lowering with it. "One day.. you'll believe me. Becuse everytime you're at your lowest, I'll be here for you.. to hold you.. cry with you.. love you.. anything you could possibly need in your darkest of days."

She smiled as some tears streamed down her cheeks. Ryden did love Zane, there was no denying that, it's just, they have been friends for so long, She didn't know how to deal with this. She sighed again and tried to wipe her tears without Zane noticing.

Zane grimaced, rubbing her back as he waited for her to speak. After a few minutes, he sighed gently, but more out of concern than boredom. "Don't be so harsh on yourself, okay?" he requested softly. "You're beautiful inside and out.. and it's only a matter of time before a man comes and sweeps you off your feet.. makes you happier than anyone else in the world. So.. until then, have patients and forget the rest of the world and it's problems. Have fun with life."

Ryden sighed. "No..." She whispered. "No one will ever, EVER.." Ryden felt her anger rise, event hough she didn't know why. "I'm not beautiful on the outside. Fuck, look at my arms Zane.. Look at them." There were scars from the knifes and razors. "I will never be beautiful.." She whrispered

He shook his head, starting to get ticked at her, angry that she didn't believe him. "You're wrong," he mumbled. "You're so unbelievably wrong," he suddenly shouted.

She looked up at him. "No Zane, you are. I'm fucking ugly. I will never be beautiful. I tried to tune out my mother and brothers saying i was ugly but i just can't do it anymore. THEY ARE FUCKING RIGHT ZANE!" She shook her head and ran out of the bathroom and into her room, going into her closet. That is where she ALWAYS hid.

Zane stepped out of the bathroom, his eyes darting to the closet. "Ryden, come out of there," he demanded, his tone hard. "We're not playing hide and seek," he muttered bitterly.

"It's not hide and seek if you know where i fucking am..." She shouted back to him. Her harsh tone matched Zane's perfectly.
