“you know what” she sat up. “I should go…and I’m not running away I’m just telling you…” she touched his cheek one last time before getting up and walking away. A tear rolled down her cheek but she quickly wiped it away.

He believed her. Crash made no move to get up, he just lay there staring at the sky. Then he turned his head to look at Eve and sort of scoffed. "Where is it you have to be?"

She didn’t bother to look at him. “I have to…um…go… um…” she couldn’t think of an excuse. She cursed herself. “have to… um…go see of the cake is done…” she them remembered he knew she could never cook.

He groaned and stood up, stretching. "You're really gonna make me walk, aren't you?" Crash gave a heavy sigh and followed after her, shoving his hands in his pockets to try and stay warm. "Why don't we just go back home? My home, that is. I know Mason would want to see you."

Once they reached his house, Crash opened the door and ushered Eve inside. Slamming it closed, he took a deep breath and screamed, "MASON! GET OVER HERE!!!!"
In a matter of seconds, the little boy was in front of Crash. "What?" The punk gestured to Eve and Mason just stared at her, wide-eyed.

Once he was able to find his voice, Mason laughed and hugged her tight. "EVE!!!!!!! EVE, what happened to you?! Crash told me you moved away!!!!!" Crash winced.

Mason sat down next to her, thinking. "Uh...well, she's really nice. She's like a mom." Crash stiffened some when Mason said that, thinking she was nothing like their mom. "And she makes me laugh if I feel bad!" He smiled.
