"Bandicoot, you don't work here!" the boss said in exasperation with a slight tone of amusement. Crash sat on one of the counters with a plate of chicken tenders and fries, giving the boss an amused look of his own. "So that means I'm not hungry?" Angry but chuckling, the manager whipped a steel spoon at Crash's head. He ducked, continuing to eat as he stared up at the Country Club's manager. "That was rude." "Crash!" he snapped.

Hearing commotion, Kyra knew what was happening. "Sir, I appologize for this knucklehead. " She said as she grabbed Crash and made him sit on a stool.

The manager shook his head. "It's fine, Kyra. But didn't you get the memo? Bring your pets to work day is scheduled for two weeks from now." Crash's eyes flicked to the manager, flashing in challenge. "You're asking to get wailed on, now. I'd beat your skull to dust if I wasn't confined to this stool..." The manager smirked. "Making threats? Oooooh. Scaaary Bandicoot." A vein in Crash's jaw jumped but to constrain himself, he buried his face in Kyra's shoulder. "Make the mean man go away", he mumbled.

The manager stared between the two of them, rolled his eyes, and mumbled something under his breath before fixing a glare at them. "Fine. Just please control your monkey. He can finish eating but then no more food, Bandicoot!" He left the kitchen while Crash was left staring after him. Then he looked at Kyra. "Who shoved that stick up his ass?"

Crash laughed too, heading for the door of the country club. "Hey, it'd be pretty stupid of him to fire the best damn worker he has here over her boyfriend's dumb antics. The shit I pull here has absolutely nothing to do with how well you serve customers. Now those days when you're acting lazy and don't feel like doing shit is on you", he said, holding the door open for her.

His jaw dropped. Was she serious?! Crash instantly started freaking out. "Hey hey hey...Kyra." He placed his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eye. "Look, I don't care how dorky you are. He offered a small smile and looked down, feeling kind of bad. That was new. Why'd he feel so bad? Well he didn't like seeing Kyra upset. He was just so used to the backlash of Neil, Tawni, and Ryden whenever he said somethig mean to them that he half expected Kyra to poke fun at him too. But maybe not...
He leaned close to her face, gently brushing a stray tear away and muttered "I'm sorry", in her ear.

He smiled warmly at her, reaching over to hold her face in one hand, lightly brushing his thumb across her cheekbone. He was content with just smiling at her for a while. Kyra was awesome. She was probably the best girlfriend he'd ever be able to get. Someone who loved him this much. "I do love you too, you know. I'm sorry...if I don't always show it the right way."
