Down came the kite, smacking Crash right in the head. Avery stopped dead in her tracks. Staring at him wide eyed, hoping he wouldn't destroy her kite now.

"AH!" Crash shouted in shock and anger when he felt the kite slam into his head. Ripping it off of him, he glared down at it, then shot Avery a look. Then Blaize. He gripped the kite tightly and started climbing a very tall tree. Once at the top, Crash nestled it in the leaves, making sure it was secure and climbed down.
"Gotta love karma", he said with a smirk.

Avery looked down sadly, she hadn't meant for Crahs to get hurt. She'd found it while cleaning out her attic, it was her fathers when he was a kid and being amish, made it himself.

Crash resisted the urge to knock her into the next millenium. "Watch how you talk to me, little girl." Jerking his head up to look at her, he froze. She looked exactly like...but it couldn't be, she...Crash just stared at her.

His jaw dropped just a little as his eyes wavered. He felt like he couldn't breathe and wouldn't be surprised if he just up and fainted right there. Crash's mouth worked, like he wanted to say something to her but no sound emmitted from it. Instead, he just swallowed the lump in his throat and tried to push past her but found he couldn't walk. "E..."
Crash lowered his eyes. What was happening? Was he going insane?

Crash started shaking. It couldn't be. It wasn't possible. He jerked away from her, backing up slowly as he reached in his jacket pocket for his revolver. He didn't withdraw it, just curled his fingers around it. "Stay away from me." His voice cracked.

He watched her run, thinking she hadn't changed one bit. Crash narrowed his eyes. What was he saying? This couldn't possibly be the Eve he loved. He was more than sure she'd died that day. But...He took a deep breath and let it out, shaking his head. It wasn't her. Wasn't her. And he planned on staying in denial for as long as he could.
Mason suddenly appeared beside Crash. "Crash? Was that...?"
"Just a girl, Mason...she was just a girl." With that, he ushered his brother inside and continued on his way. But...she'd been wearing sunglasses. Hoping he wasn't too late, Crash ran as fast as he could to catch up with her. When he finally did, he grabbed her arm. "Wait!"

Crash stumbled some when she hugged him and felt some of his suspicion melt away. But I have to be sure, he thought as he wound his arms around her. Slowly lifting her chin so she'd have to look at him, he removed her sunglasses and stared into her eyes.
He stiffened. "...It is you", he all but whispered.

So many things swirled in his mind. The fact that Eve was alive...and Kyra...but the whole thing with Brett...In the end, Crash pulled her back to him and held her close, tryin his best not to let the tears escape from his eyes. "Eve...is it really you?"

Crash searched her face, his eyes moving back and forth. He lowered his head and let hot tears drop from his eyes. He wanted to tell her so much but not now. Now he wanted to just be happy that she was standing in front of him, alive. Suddenly a thought came to him. "Wait, Eve...if...you're still alive, then..." He couldn't seem to bring himself to ask about their daughter. What if the answer was too painful?

Already knowing the answer from her expression, Crash balled one hand into a fist and punched the first thing he saw--a lamp post. "Dammit", he hissed, ignoring the stinging pain of the blow. He was sure his wrist was broken.
